CRAWFORD COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARIES ANNOUNCE PHASED REOPENING PLAN STARTING JUNE 15

Meadville PA – The Crawford County Federated Library System will begin limited library service starting Monday June 15, 2020.

In preparation for the return of limited library service, the nine member Libraries are currently instituting social distancing and designing services to limit personal contact to allow patrons to safely access and use library materials  For example, all returned materials are quarantined to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to staff and/or future library users.

All library materials checked out prior to the COVID-19 related closure will have an extended due date of July 1, 2020.  No fines or late fees have been issued for those materials which were unable to be returned during the pandemic.  Patrons may return items to the book drops of all nine member libraries.

The Crawford County Federated Library System will follow a three-phased plan that allows each member library to offer those services which it believes is in the best interest of their respective communities.   The three phases are curbside, lobby service, and access to the library with appropriate social distancing protocols in place.

With curbside or lobby service library users will be able to reserve materials online through the library catalog or by calling the library. Pickup will be available either at designated curbside locations or in the lobbies of the individual libraries.  Hours for the call-in and pickup service will vary by library; see below to find the respective times, procedures  and places for your library.

In an effort to speed up the pickup process, Library staff is encouraging  patrons to limit their hold requests to 5 items per adult card and 10 items per child card

The curbside and or lobby service will begin June 15, 2020.  Please contact your local library if you have any questions.
