Erie and Crawford District Services offers easy-to-use, mobile HotSpots that connect to your tablet, laptop or any other Wi-Fi–enabled device to the Internet.

FAQ’s

How do I check out the device?
Just stop by your local library and check it out just like any other item. You can place also place one on hold like you would any other item in our online catalog.

Who can check out it out?
Any Adult cardholder with a valid CCFLS Library card.

How long can I keep it?
You can borrow it for 14 days. Overdue HotSpots will have their Internet access deactivated within 24 hours of the due date.

How much does it cost?
Borrowing and using the device is free! Any device returned late will be subject to a $1.00 per day late fee. If the device is lost or damaged beyond repair, a $100 fee will be charged to your Library account.

Can I reserve a HotSpot to check out for a particular date and time?
No. HotSpots are available on a first-come/first-served basis. You can place holds on them, but we cannot guarantee their availability for a specific date or time.

How do I return it?
The HotSpot must be returned inside the building with all of the original packaging and accessories.

How do I know if the HotSpot will work where I plan on taking it?
The HotSpots operate on the T-Mobile network. You can see a map of the coverage area here.

Can I use the hotspot outside of the U.S.?
No. Our HotSpots only work in the U.S.

What information about my Internet usage, if any, is tracked by the Library?
Your Internet usage is not tracked by the Library. While using the hotspot you are governed by the same rules of your library’s internet usage policy.
