Description
Pregnant as a teenager in Ireland in 1952, Philomena Lee was sent to a convent to have her baby. Three years later her child was taken from her and sold to a family in America for adoption. She spent the next fifty years searching for him. Both mother and son had lives scarred by the forces of hypocrisy on both sides of the Atlantic.
